Have you given up on exercise?
2 years ago that was me . I’d had 5 surgeries in as many years and had come back after each one fighting to get back into shape. I had over the years tried the gym, bootcamps, running, stairs, zumba, dieting… You name it I tried it running myself to the ground. After the last surgery I gave up all together and stopped all exercising and dieting .
I felt like I couldn’t do it any more. I gained weight, became depressed and lost my mojo. I was on all kinds of medication, finding it very hard to leave the house and get dressed. I just lost all motivation. This was not a solution as I have 5 children and a husband. They needed me and I needed to be a good role model for, have energy for and be happy for them. I thought to myself there has to be something out there for me that works better for my body and my mind.
That’s when I saw The Rebalance Pilates and Yoga 8 week Program pop up on my Facebook page and it literally changed my life. I was sceptical at the start thinking this was just going to be another short term fix but I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did.
Within 8 weeks I lost 10kg and 39.5 cm, gained energy, core strength toning and muscle definition. I went of all my medication and felt the best I had in years and it’s only gotten better. I achieved this through doing 2 reformer classes a week plus a barre and yoga class.
I also followed the meal plan given to me (mostly 80% of the time as I still allowed myself the social time). So it does and can work if you try. I loved it that much that I decided to do the training to become an instructor and was also able to fulfil this through Rebalance Pilates and Yoga (they have great training opportunity’s). I had been up until then a German teacher and accounts person.
It just keeps getting better…
4 months after becoming an instructor the opportunity came up to be the manager of Rebalance Pilates and Yoga in Boronia, Victoria. So I took it, quitting my other 2 jobs that I had been doing for a very long time. My husband likes to call it my midlife crisis, but it’s the best thing I have done. Not only am I doing a job that I love but it’ s a job that I believe in. I get to stay fit and healthy but I also get to help others feel the way I do. So my advice is don’t give up give Pilates a go and it might just change your life too.
